노리 오카와 Nori Okawa
노리 오카와는 1991년 일본 오카야마 현 출생으로 , 2014년에 타마미술대학 그래픽 디자인 학과를 졸업하였다.
어린 나이에 가족을 잃은 경험은 그로 하여금 삶과 죽음의 경계에 대해 깊이 탐구하게 했다. 그녀의 작품은 유기적 요소와 무기적 요소를 결합한 모티프를 통해 삶과 죽음이 서로 밀접하게 연결된 관계임을 표현하며, 이러한 탐구를 통해 인간이 가진 가능성과 아름다움을 새롭 게 바라본다 오카와의 작품에는 일본의 우키요 에 에서 비롯된 쾌락주의적 테마의 영향을 엿볼 수 있다.
그녀는 예측할 수 없는 인생의 끝을 고려하며, 각 순간을 즐기는 것의 중요성을 현대적인 형태의 새로운 우키요에로 표현하고 있다.

Nori Okawa was born in 1991 in Okayama Prefecture, Japan, and graduated in 2014 from the Department of Graphic Design at Tama Art University.
Having lost her family at a young age, she became deeply fascinated with the boundary between life and death. Her work expresses the intimate relationship between life and death through motifs that combine organic and inorganic elements, offering a fresh perspective on the potential and beauty inherent in humanity. Okawa's art also reflects influences from Japan's ukiyo-e (woodblock print art), particularly in its hedonistic themes.
Considering the unpredictable nature of life's end, she portrays the importance of enjoying each moment, reinterpreting this concept in a contemporary form of ukiyo-e.
Active in presenting her work both in Japan and internationally, Okawa also expresses her unique worldview through various artistic endeavors in advertising visuals and the fashion industry. The symbolic motifs depicted in her work merge the organic and inorganic, interpreting the relationship between life and death. In the context of living in the modern ukiyo-e, these beings embody both organic and inorganic qualities, revealing a powerful presence that exudes vitality even within the transience of existence.
In her artwork, the intersection of existence (有) and non-existence (無), and the fluid, changing moments, symbolize our own existence as we navigate the modern world.
